Ft. Lewis Master Plan
Ft. Lewis, Washington
Site Workshop worked with Urban Design Associates, and the Lincoln Property Company / Equity Residential development team on the preparation of a comprehensive plan for renovating and building new neighborhoods for army families within the Ft. Lewis post. The core concept is to renovate existing housing and provide new housing in combination with strategic infrastructure improvements to establish a series of cohesive, interconnected residential communities. This objective prioritizes creating places of character that incorporate the best qualities of historic neighborhoods both on-post and in the surrounding communities. Site Workshop has been involved in developing community guidelines for the design of streets, parks, and residential landscapes.
Beachwood, within the north fort, is the first neighborhood to receive new and renovated homes, parks, and streets. Rolling improvements and new developments will continue on an annual cycle for the 50-year lease period of the project. |
