Broad Street Substation
Client: Seattle City Light
Location: Seattle, WA
At the Broad Street Substation in the Denny Regrade, we studied right-of-way improvements as a public benefit so that the utility could acquire a street vacation to accommodate necessary equipment upgrades. The overall landscape design creates a soft contrast to the architecture and creates a more welcoming pedestrian experience, while preparing the block to accommodate increased pedestrian activity as the surrounding city grid reconnects over the 99 tunnel.
