Site Workshop is engaged in the expansion of A.B. Ernst Park located in the heart of Fremont and adjacent to the landmarked Fremont Public Library. Proposed improvements cascade down this steeply sloped site, accessibly connecting N 35th Street to an improved alley and new mid-block retail/pedestrian corridor. Through a lively community engagement process, the design team has developed a site plan filled with play for all ages – a hillside slide and rock scramble, view picnicking, comfortable furnishings for enjoying a library book, and an improved central gathering area for story time and small events.
