Block 5 Pocket Park

Size: 0.4 ac.
Client: Lowe Enterprises with Seattle Housing Authority

Site Workshop was brought on board to design this pocket park in conjunction with the new 209 12th Avenue South apartments,  The design team worked hard to develop a parcel shape and location that would maximize access to views and sunlight. The resulting park offers visual connections to other open spaces found throughout Yesler Terrace, realizing the master-plan intent to create a neighborhood park network. The preliminary park design includes a large lawn space, garden play area, and hillside slides.
