To underwrite the conservation and stewardship goals of the project, which protects 12,000 acres in the Galisteo Basin south of Santa Fe, a 965-unit mixed-use village is proposed for development within a carefully-sited 300-acre corner of the Preserve. The village celebrates long-established planning principles of traditional New Mexico towns and villages.
