Vinita Sidhu, Principal, PLA

Vinita’s work and education spans two coasts and three continents. She happily joined Site Workshop in 2007 and has been enthusiastically delving into the complexities of rooftop gardens, campus landscapes, and learning and healing environments. Vinita is especially interested in expanding the role of women in positions of leadership in design. Her project management philosophy is two parts determination, one part resilience and one part humor. At the end of each day, she likes to think that she did her best work and had fun doing it.

Vinita landed in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle in 1998 and has become deeply rooted in her community. As a steering committee member of the Friends of Fremont Peak Park, former board member of the Phinney Neighborhood Pre-school Co-op and project manager for the B.F. Day Elementary playground improvement project, she is strongly committed to creating a vibrant community in her backyard, and she’s getting her hands dirty while she does it. She walks to work every day and is still struck by the beauty of the Northwest.
